Get ready for an exciting weekend of junior pickleball at this NJP Doubles tournament in conjunction with PickleCon in Kansas City, MO! This unique event brings together young players ages 8-18 for a thrilling Co-Ed Doubles competition. With divisions for all skill levels, from recreational to advanced, there’s a place for everyone to shine on the court.

Schedule of Events 

All events are included in the registration fee. Players may choose to withdraw from any event you cannot participate in, but to get the full benefit of the tournament weekend, we HIGHLY encourage attendance at all events.

8/8 Friday – NJP Junior Player Clinic (Optional)

• 5:00- 6:00 pm – NJP Clinic- Meet up with juniors and their families to practice skills and experience the facility before competition.
• 6:00-8:00 pm- PickleCon Glow in the Dark Open Play (NOT organized by NJP)

8/9 Saturday –Co-Ed Doubles Competition 

• 8:00 am Check in. 9:00 am Start time
• Age & Skill Divisions (see division descriptions below)
• Co-Ed/Gender Neutral Doubles means 2 players of any gender combination may partner (2 boys OR 2 girls OR 1 boy, 1 girl)
• Round Robin Pool Play plus Playoffs. Four game minimum guarantee.

8/10 Sunday – Singles Competition 

• 8:00 am Check in. Start times announced Monday, August 4. All matches finished by 4pm at the latest.
• Age & Skill Divisions (see division descriptions below)
• Round Robin Pool Play plus Playoffs. Four game minimum guarantee.

Tournament Format

• Age divisions are assigned based on the players age on the FIRST DAY of the tournament.
• Skill divisions are automatically assigned based on DUPR rating.
• Doubles events are Co-Ed, meaning boys and girls compete together and can be the same gender or mixed gender of any combination.
• Doubles teams will play to the division of the oldest/highest skilled partner.
• Divisions may be combined at the discretion of NJP to optimize player experience, based on final registration numbers.
• Each event will be round robin pool play with playoff rounds. Every player will play a minimum of four games.
• The top three finishers in every age/skill division and event will receive a medal.
• Franklin X-40 is the Official Tournament Ball.
• Courts are Pickleroll in climate controlled indoors with temporary nets.
• All players must have a (free) DUPR account before the start of the tournament. All matches are reported to DUPR.

Junior Age/Skill Divisions

NJP events are thoughtfully designed for Juniors to compete against players of similar age AND skill levels, ensuring an exciting and balanced experience. To provide an optimal environment, we offer a variety of subdivisions for registration, but please note that any group with fewer than five participants may be combined with another closely matched age or skill division.

Age Groups

• Ages 8-12
• Ages 13-18

Skill Level Definitions

• Recreational – No DUPR – 2.899 DUPR
• Intermediate – 2.900-3.500 DUPR
• Advanced –  3.501+

Appealing your DUPR skill level

If you believe your DUPR is not accurate and would like to be considered for a different division, please email registration@nationaljuniorpickleball.com with: Full Player Name, NJP Event, Desired Division and Reasons for appeal. A player’s overall DUPR/UTR/NJP player history will be the main determining factor in most cases. Appeals will be evaluated weekly and players will be notified of the final decision. Any change in skill level (up or down) will be at the discretion of Registration Manager and Tournament Director with the goal of providing the best overall experience.

Refund Policy

7/14/25– CANCELLATION DEADLINE: No refunds for any reason after the CANCELLATION DEADLINE. If you withdraw before CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE, you will be issued a full refund, minus a $5 service processing fee.
