NJP Regional Overview
- NJP powered by JOOLA is a Juniors-Only tournament is open to players aged 8-18 of all skill levels and will have a clinic & evaluation session (evening day 1), singles competition (day 2), doubles competition (day 3) and 4-player Team Competition (day 4).
- Each division follows a round-robin format, leading to playoffs and medal rounds, so every player gets lots of play!
- The top three finishers in every age/skill division and event will receive a medal.
- Age/Skill Doubles and Team events are Co-Ed, meaning boys and girls compete together and can be the same gender or mixed gender of any combination (example a team can have 3 boys and 1 girl OR 4 girls OR 2 boys 2 girls, or any other combination).
- All players must have a (free) DUPR account before the start of the tournament. All singles and doubles matches are reported to DUPR, however Team Competition matches will NOT be reported.
- The Franklin X-40 is the official ball of National Junior Pickleball tournaments.

Schedule of Events
All events are included in the registration fee. Players may choose to withdraw from any event you cannot participate in, but to get the full benefit of the tournament weekend, we HIGHLY encourage attendance at all events.
- 7/16 Wednesday 5:00-7:00 pm Skills Clinic & Evaluation
- The Evaluation session is an integral part of the success of NJP. This session helps us verify the skill level of each player and that you should be playing in the skill level you have selected at registration. Please make every effort to attend. Learn more in our FAQ section.
- 7/17 Thursday – Gender Singles Competition
- 8:00 am Check in opens, Start times vary
- Format Rec, Int, Adv & Elite: Age, Skill AND Gender (boys OR girls)
- 7/18 Friday – Doubles Competition
- 8:00 am Check in opens, Start times vary
- Rec, Int & Adv Format: Age & Skill. Co-Ed Doubles (Co-ed means any two players may compete together (two boys, two girls, one boy + one girl)
- Elite Division: Gendered (Boys Doubles OR Girls Doubles)
- 7/19 Saturday – 4 player Team Competition
- 8:00 am Check in, ALL teams begin at 9:00 am)
- ALL Teams will play until 4:00 pm. Plan to stay until that time. If you leave before 4pm your team will forfeit your match and be at a disadvantage.
- Teams are grouped into pools of 4 for round robin pool play. Pools consist of 4 or 5 teams with the most similar average age & skill. Learn more about Team Day in our FAQ section.
- Non-elite teams- 4 players of any gender combination. Players do NOT have to all be in the same age & skill division.
- Elite teams ONLY– Teams need to include 2 boys and 2 girls and a combined team DUPR of at least 18. Some players may have a DUPR below 4.5, as long as the team total reaches the 18-point minimum. Note: If a player is under the standard 4.5 threshold, they must email registration@nationaljuniorpickleball.com to request placement on an existing team. The Elite registration fee will still apply.
No partner? No problem!
Many players, if not most, come to NJP with no partner or team in advance! NJP has a proven system designed to allow players to meet and get to know each other before committing to a partnership or team. Learn more about finding a partner in our FAQ section.
Junior Age/Skill Divisions
NJP powered by JOOLA events are thoughtfully designed for Juniors to compete against players of similar age AND skill levels, ensuring an exciting and balanced experience.
To provide an optimal environment, we offer a variety of subdivisions for registration, but please note that any group with fewer than five participants may be combined with another closely matched age or skill division.
Age Groups
Ages 8-10, 11-12, 13-14, 15-18
Skill Divisions
Players will be required to connect a DUPR account in order to be entered into Intermediate or Advanced Divisions. They will automatically be registered into the singles or doubles division based on their DUPR.
- Recreational – No DUPR – 2.899 DUPR
- Intermediate – 2.900-3.500 DUPR
- Advanced – 3.501+
- Elite (18U Open Age)

- Boys: 4.5+ Doubles, 4.5+ Singles
- Girls: 4.5+ Doubles, 4.0+ Singles
- Team: 2 boys/2 girls with a minimum combined Team DUPR of 18
Appealing your DUPR skill level
If you believe your DUPR is not accurate and would like to be considered for a different division, please email registration@nationaljuniorpickleball.com with: Full Player Name, NJP Event, Desired Division and Reasons for appeal.
A player’s overall DUPR/UTR/NJP player history will be the main determining factor in most cases. Appeals will be evaluated weekly and players will be notified of the final decision. Players appealing their skill level may be required to attend the Evaluation session. Any change in skill level (up or down) will be at the discretion of Registration Manager and Tournament Director with the goal of providing the best overall experience for all players.

Refund Policy
6/29/25– CANCELLATION DEADLINE: No refunds for any reason after the CANCELLATION DEADLINE. If you withdraw before CANCELLATION DEADLINE ABOVE, you will be issued a full refund, minus a $5 service processing fee.
