NJP events are designed to allow players to meet and get to know each other before committing to a partnership or team.

Players can sign up for the tournament with or without a doubles partner or team.

Players needing partners will have opportunities to meet and play with others onsite and notify the tournament director once a mutual partnership/team has been formed.

Partnerships must be formed by 7pm the day prior to the event. In the event you don’t select a partner or team, NJP will select one for you.

After you are registered, click “Registration” then “edit” on the right hand side under “My Registration”. You can withdraw, change Division (older/higher only) and choose a partner or team.

You may contact a “player needing partner” through our website by clicking “View Teams” on your Doubles Division, then “Contact.” Your message will be sent to the player via email and your email address provided for them to respond.

Simply… YES! Whether you’re a regular, high-level tournament player or a novice who has never played competitively, we’ll have an appropriate bracket for you!

Instructors will evaluate players onsite and create pool-play brackets based on age & skill to ensure a positive, competitive, experience for all.

All players should select the skill level based on the descriptions below.

However, each player will be evaluated during the Eval session prior to the start of the tournament to ensure correct placement (no sandbagging!).

Please choose the level that best describes your experience.

Novice – Familiar with the rules of pickleball and of side out scoring.

Has played recreationally with friends and family. Can reliably hit the ball over the net and into the court.

Intermediate – Experience in local league and/or event play.

Has the ability to hit basic shots (dink, drop, drive, serve, overhead) on a daily consistent basis.

Advanced – Extensive competitive tournament experience.

Can execute all skills with consistency and has advanced strategy knowledge.

During registration select “withdraw” from the event you wish to abstain from.

You will NOT be included in that event and entry at a later date if you change your mind is NOT guaranteed.

We highly recommend participating in every event for the full experience.

The Evaluation session is an integral part of the success of NJP. This session helps us verify the skill level of each player and that you should be playing in the skill level you have selected at registration, as you relate to the other players in that same level.

Please make every effort to attend. This is especially crucial if you don’t have a partner or team.

It’s also a great opportunity to socialize with the players you’ll be spending the next few days with!

DUPR has partnered to make this event better than ever and get all registrants a FREE DUPR rating.

As such, make sure you have created an account for your child/children at mydupr.com or download the app.

We will leave it up to you to decide how to manage the email account associated with your child’s profile! DUPR staff will be onsite to answer any questions you may have.

Creating your player account before the event will help ensure a smooth check-in experience and allow the tournament to start on time!

A team will consist of 4 youth players, regardless of gender. Teams will be placed into age/skill pools depending on final registration count.

Each team will play four games per round (ex AB vs WX, CD vs YZ, AC vs WY, BD vs XZ). Each player will play TWO games with two different partners on their team each round.

Games will be to 21 win by 2, rally scoring. If the teams are tied 2-2 then a “Singles Showdown” tie-breaker will decide the winner (1 singles game to 21 win by 2, rally scoring, players switch every 4 points).

Don’t worry- we’ll do an explainer session and Q&A before hand, plus Court Monitors will be help guide you through the game!
