Tournament Format
- Age divisions are assigned based on the players age on the FIRST DAY of the tournament.
- Doubles events are Co-Ed, meaning boys and girls compete together and can be the same gender or mixed gender of any combination.
- Doubles teams will play to the division of the oldest/highest skilled partner.
- Divisions may be combined at the discretion of NJP to optimize player experience, based on final registration numbers.
- Each event will be round robin pool play with playoff rounds. Every player will play a minimum of four games.
- The top three finishers in every age/skill division and event will receive a medal.
- Franklin X-40 is the Official Tournament Ball.
- Courts are climate controlled indoors.
- All players must have a (free) DUPR account before the start of the tournament. All matches are reported to DUPR.
- NJP follows USAP rules, but is not a USAP sanctioned tournament.
- NJP has no requirements that paddles be USAP or UPA-A approved. Junior players, especially beginners, use a wide variety of paddles from various brands that may or may not be approved. NJP doesn’t want to cause stress or additional costs for Junior players entering the game if they are not aware of their paddle status. We also understand that the paddle approval landscape is constantly changing and do not want to affect Juniors or their families until there are clear and definitive guidelines across the industry.
