The NJP Champions Cup is the biggest weekend on the junior pickleball calendar.

NJP events sell out, so register early to secure your spot!

Hundreds of juniors ages 8 to 18 will come together to compete in singles, doubles, and team events across every age group.

Whether a player is chasing their first medal or defending a tour ranking, the format guarantees a minimum of four games for everyone, so every player gets meaningful competition. No one travels here to play two games and watch the rest of the day.

Champions Cup Format

The Champions Cup is built differently, featuring:

  • Age Group Champions
  • Boys & Girls Divisions for Singles & Doubles
  • Round Robin Pool Play plus Single Elimination Champions Cup Bracket & Plate Brackets
  • Top 4 NJP Tour ranked players receive top seeding in Champions Cup Bracket
  • Open Division for 4.0+ players with Cash Prize

Complete details on “Junior Age & Skill Divisions” tab below.

Cash & Prizes

An NJP Tour Champions Cup title carries weight, and there’s more to play for here than at any other junior event in the country.

  • $5,000 in prize money up for grabs in the Open Division
  • $1,000 Triple Crown waiting for anyone who can sweep all three Open Division events
  • Dream Tickets to the Minor League National Team Championships
  • Age Group Champions Cup sponsor prizes from JOOLA, Skechers, Notes to Self and more!

We highly recommend playing all events for the best tournament experience—more matches, more learning, and the full NJP community vibe.

As with most pickleball tournaments, players will pay a base registration fee plus a per-event fee.

Format

  • Each division follows a round-robin format, leading to playoffs and medal rounds, so every player gets lots of play!
  • The top three finishers in every age and event will receive a Champions Cup award.
  • Every player receives an event T-shirt, a swag bag packed with goodies, and an unforgettable weekend of pickleball fun!

Choose Your Events: Add the events you want to play based on availability and schedule

Check-In: 8:00 am

Schedule: All matches begin at 9:00 am and all teams play through 4:00 pm. ALL PLAYERS need to plan to stay until 4:00pm. Leaving early forfeits matches and disadvantages your team.

Format: 4 players, any gender combination. Players do not have to be in the same age/skill division. Many players form teams on Saturday during or after doubles competition.

Team Divisions

DUPR 12 Age: 8-12

  • Max team aggregate: 12.300 | Max player rating: 3.100 | Free Agent min rating: 0

Team Division Eligibility

  • Teams are placed by total team DUPR
  • Teams can have any combination of genders (all boys, all girls, 3 boys/1 girl, etc)
  • Free Agent Minimum: Players who register without a complete team and plan to form one onsite must meet the Free Agent Minimum to be eligible for that division and available for partner selection.
  • Pre-formed teams of 4 that register before the close of registration are not subject to any DUPR minimum requirements.
  • Team Day results are NOT reported to DUPR.
  • At time of registration, each player’s DUPR will be added together to determine the total team DUPR for division assignment. Two weeks prior to event competition, NJP will review total Team DUPRs and reserves the right to make division adjustments if a Team’s DUPR aggregate changes significantly.

Grab three friends, pick a team name and lock in your spot. Ready to build your squad?

Team Match Structure (4 Doubles Games)

  • Each player competes twice with different partners
  • No player may have the same partner twice within a round.
  • Each player must play once in G1/G2 and once in G3/G4
  • If games are tied 2-2, tie break will be a 15 point Singles Showdown (singles points, rotating players every 4 rallies).

Scoring

  • Rally scoring to 15, win by 2; switch at 11
  • Timeouts: One 1‑minute timeout per game; 1‑minute side‑change timeout.
  • Continuous points: no freeze; no win‑on‑serve requirement.
NJP Championship Cup

The NJP Champions Cup is built different

Throughout the season, NJP Regionals are run with both age and skill divisions. That structure works well during the year: it gives newer players a place to compete against opponents at their age and level, and it lets players find their footing as they develop.

This is the year-end championship, and the goal is to determine a true champion in each age group rather than a champion of a skill bracket.

Age Group Champions

  • All competition will be by AGE GROUP only (no skill levels), except for Open Division (minimum 4.0 DUPR). Combining all skill levels within an age division means the title carries real weight, and the player who wins it has beaten the full field in their age group.
  • Pool play with top 2 teams from each pool advancing to single elimination Champions Cup Bracket (prizes!) and remaining teams assigned to Plate Bracket.
  • Every player is guaranteed a minimum of 4 games.

NJP Tour Ranking Points

The top 4 ranked players in each age group receive guaranteed entry into the Champions Cup Division. Ranking points earned across NJP Regionals translate directly into an advantage. View NJP Tour Leaderboards

Open Division (4.0+) – $5,000 Cash Prize

The Open Division recognizes the top juniors in the country and to supports them in a practical way. The prize money is meant to go toward what these players actually need: training, coaching, and the cost of traveling to compete. Junior pickleball asks a lot of families, and this is one way to give something back to the players who are pushing the level of the sport forward.

Open Division is limited to players with a 4.0+ DUPR rating, ages 8 through 18. No exceptions. Players rated 4.0+ may compete in either their age division OR the Open Division, but not both. Read more in the “Swag & Prizes” section.

Champions Cup Age Divisions

Boys Singles: 8-10 | 11-12 | 13-18 | Open 18U (4.0+)
Boys Doubles: 8-10 | 11-12 | 13-18 | Open 18U (4.0+)
Girls Singles: 8-12 | 13-18 | Open 18U (4.0+)
Girls Doubles: 8-12 | 13-18 | Open 18U (4.0+)

Champions Cup Format

Pool play with top 2 teams from each pool advancing to Champions Cup Bracket (prizes!) and remaining teams assigned to Plate Bracket.

Every player is guaranteed a minimum of 4 games.

Competition starts with pool play. You’ll be placed in an age division pool of 4 teams that includes all skill levels in your age group, and you’ll play a round robin against everyone in your pool. Roughly half of pool play matches are refereed, and all semifinals and finals have referees on court.

From there, the field splits into two brackets. Both brackets play through to a podium, so your weekend doesn’t end when pool play does.

Champions Cup Bracket

  • The top 2 teams from each pool advance to a single-elimination bracket, competing for Gold, Silver, and Bronze in their age group.
  • The top 4 players in each age group by NJP Tour ranking points receive guaranteed entry into the Champions Cup Division, seeded 1-4.
  • In doubles, only one partner needs to hold a top 4 ranking for the team to qualify.
  • If a team with a top 4 ranked player does not finish in the top 2 of their pool, that team still advances, and only one additional team from that pool moves on.
  • If they do finish in the top 2, the pool advances two teams as normal.

Plate Bracket

All remaining teams from each pool move into their own single-elimination bracket, with a full set of medals on the line.

One of the best parts of NJP events is that you don’t need to arrive with a partner or team in order to play.

At NJP, we’ve designed our tournaments to help players connect, meet new friends, and form partnerships onsite. If you don’t have a doubles partner, you need to attend the Drills & Open Play and/or Singles Day to meet other players and select a partner. We highly recommend playing all events for the full NJP Tour experience.

Here’s how it works:

  • Register solo or with a partner/team. Players may sign up with or without partners.

  • Meet & play before you commit. Through our Drill & Open Play session and Singles competition, players get the chance to meet others before finalizing partnerships.

  • Players without a pre-selected partner must select a partner from the SAME doubles age/skill division

  • Form your team by the deadline.

    • Doubles partners must be confirmed by 3:00 PM on Singles Day.

    • 4-Player Teams must be finalized by the 3:00 PM on Doubles Day.

Partner Availability

NJP will make every effort to place players with a Doubles partner or Team Day team when needed. However, partner and team placement is not guaranteed and based on player availability. If NJP is unable to place a player with a suitable partner or team, the player will be withdrawn from that event and issued a refund for that event only. The player may still compete in any other events for which they are registered and eligible. NJP’s placement decisions are final.

Partner / Team Assignment

Once a player receives a Doubles partner assignment or Team Day team assignment from NJP staff, that assignment is considered final. A player who withdraws after receiving an assigned partner or team may be subject to the following penalties:

First Offense: Formal written warning, forfeiture of all NJP Tour Ranking Points earned at that tournament, and prohibition from registering without a confirmed partner or team at the player’s next NJP Regional event.

Second Offense: Six-month suspension from all NJP events, camps, and experiences.

This policy applies because late withdrawals after assignment negatively impact other players, teams, and divisions.
